Need Your Help On This One - Giveaway Round 2

I've been posting on how 'Just Married Please Excuse' is doing well, and how we're going into a reprint very soon. Still - it's a very, very large country and I still find that there are many places where the book is not available in physical stores. This continues to be very, very critical - despite the entire e-revolution, we still browse and discover books in stores. It's a real challenge trying to stay on top of this, and I could really use your help here.

I'd like to open up a book giveaway again for Round 2 - so till October 15, if you could please do the following:

1. The next time you're in a bookstore, do look around for JMPE. If you don't see it, please do ASK for it.
2. If you find that they don't have it in stock, please write to me with the store's name and location ( do include the phone number, too) - at yashodhara dot lal at gmail dot com. This will help my publisher keep track of where it needs to be placed. It will help immensely.

I will randomly pick 5 people and send copies of the book to them, shall announce on Oct 15.These won't be signed copies as I'll be ordering them online for you, but you'll win the book anyway and I promise to sign them for you when we get to meet someday - when I'm in your city next :-)

(Do note that the chain Odyssey is not a part of this because they're apparently not stocking new titles).

Even if you've already read the book ( and hopefully liked it), it will help immensely if you can keep an eye out for this. And ideally, create a bit of a scene with your vociferous demand 'What kind of book-store is THIS?' if they don't stock it (as my brother-in-law has promised to do :-))

I really appreciate the support!

  3. haha!! don't worry I ll surely make a good scene if I come across any book store which does not stock JMPE..I ll put my foot down n say in a v. disapproving manner that how can a bookstore exist without stocking such amazing books..I ll blame them for killing the creativity of the upcoming Indian writers!!!

  4. A couple of weeks ago, I looked for your book in Crossword, Oberoi Mall, Mumbai. They didn't have it in stock. I then checked in Landmark, Infinity Mall, Mumbai. They didn't have it either. Since I am recognised for my dramatic streak, I don't need to be asked to create a scene. It is what comes naturally to me. I threw a fit, asking them how they could not stock that book, of all books. They seemed very apologetic, noted down the author's name, publication, etc.

I haven't checked with them after that. But I can swing by those stores again. Will get back to you if they are still not in stock there. :)

    1. Thanks, appreciate the fit-throwing on my behalf. If you do happen to pop into a store, will be great if you can check if a re-fit is in order! Many thanks.

  5. Hi Y
I just finished your book- the copy you kindly autographed and sent across and let me tell you- this is a seriously real book!
I loved the beginning, empathised with your pregnancy, rejoiced with Peanut's birth and yes, empathised some more with the post-delivery overwhelming 'babyness' that took over us as a couple too. I laughed with the kebabs episode- did V really do that?
There are so many instances, described so beautifully which made me go- Awww!
Mostly, of course, it's the verve in the book which made it un-put-downable. I finished it within 24 hours (that's a short period considering my hyperactive 15 month old daughter!)

I wish you the best for your forthcoming books. Will spread the word about this one to all my friends!

    Keep writing!

    1. Not at all, your update helped - Pepper mentioned she checked a couple of weeks ago; the fact that they didn't have it till even recently when you checked is helpful. And only a little depressing :-(. But thanks!

    1. Have you checked out uread.com, Geet? The book is available there, they ship internationally. It's also on Amazon, although as you see above, they're apparently taking inordinately long to deliver in at least one case!
Hope you do get to read and enjoy!

  12. Hi Yashodhara,

I searched for your book in Noida at Om book Shop,Great India Place, Noida and also at couple of other book stores like Galgotia's, Noida & Teksons, Noida but could not find it .

In the end i got frustrated and thought that in this age it's better to go online than search on the streets. Finally i ordered from Flipkart, let's hope they live up to our expectation.

    Thanks,
    Abhishek Saxena

    1. Hi there :-)

Very glad to hear from you. Thank you so much.

The book is available on Amazon and Uread, but the shipping charges are *rather* high. I wish I could get my brother to give you a copy, he's in Birmingham! Hah! The eBook is expected to be out in a couple of months. Either way, I hope you get to read the book sometime soon - and that you enjoy it !
